The dash heat problem

On our trip to Eugene we had an issue with the dash heater where we had plenty of heat out the defroster vents but not so much heat out of the bottom of the dash.  Well Sophie said she had good heat but my side was not so hot, so to speak.  And today I looked around under the dash and found that a connector on the back of the heat control that had several small air lines on it would disconnect when I pushed the controller back in the dash.  That might be the problem but I will have to try it out tomorrow or whenever I get time and motivation.
I'm not sure about some of the stuff under the dash like this box I found.

Yea the last thing I need is some car alarm going off in the middle of the night.......and it's in my motor home.
