Replacing an inside receptacle.

During the colder outings we use an electric heater.  Since Smokey is getting older some of the most used receptacles are not as tight. So here is how I replaced them.

Here is what you missed unless you were here.  We started at the Vancouver WA elks Friday.  The evening started with a very nice dinner followed by some loud band.  Sure we had dancing.   And some lucky people won some steaks that went down great once I got out my new BBQ on Sunday. 

After a very loud band we had a very loud night parked right next to I-205.  

So Saturday after shopping at the local mall we made the decision to travel North to the Kelso elks.  There is always great shopping to be done there.   And Sophie always has some coupons for macys. 

The weather was kind of wet Saturday night but since we had a not- so-peacefull night Friday it was early to bed Saturday. 

Sunday started off with sunshine.  All was good.  Shopping was great and the steaks, burgers and dogs went down good for lunch. 

 

After a couple of rigs headed home Sunday afternoon sophie and I headed for good old saint helens elks.  Always a quiet time there. And the world seems good when we hit the Top Notch thrift store.  

Monday we headed home with some more shopping along the way. 

Another great outing with good friends and fun times.  

More time in Newport.

Part of my job is being on the board of directors for a resort we enjoy in Newport.   Schooner landing has us spend a weekend at the resort for meeting with the staff and inspecting the place.  Band with it being Super Bowl Sunday we had to partake in a party.  Here are pictures outside and inside at game time. 

So that was last weekend.  Now this weekend at home looks like this.  

Of course we needed some mall walking.

Our week in Newport.

Spending a week, well 4 nights anyway, of Summer like weather in January was great.  Good weather at the coast anytime of the year is what we enjoy.  After getting home we kind of shifted into vacationing mode.  Here are some pictures from the week. 

The first outing of 2014

So after days of fog we decided to take Smokey out of lockup and run away to the Coast.   We picked up Smokey around 9:30 and brought him home.   I un winterized everything and Sophie put things together inside.  I had my teeth cleaned and headed to the Coast around 2PM.   Once we left home the sun was out and we had a very nice drive.  In Lincoln City the weather was warm.  We did some shopping and then drove to Newport.  No one was here so we pulled into our favorite spot, hooked up water, elect, cable TV and settled in for supper and watching the sun go down.

LED lights in the RV

Since I have been playing with LED lights I offered to order some direct replacement bulbs for the 1156 bulbs in most of our RV lights.   Here are some pictures of how they look in use.  

The bottom one is the old style ones used for many years.  They do get hot when in use.   Then above that is a 13 LED 5050 SMD light bulb.  It has a blue color to it.   Then at the top is a 18 LED 5050 SMD light.   This gave me the most light and white color that I was looking for.  And at the cost of $1.55 it fits my budget.
