Wilbur is ready to go

This week we are getting together with some of our "classic" Winnebago friends.  That doesn't mean our friends are old,  just their choice of RV's are old.  But speaking of old, I mean classic, some friends are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.   So we are taking Wilbur to the big event.

Do you wonder what will happen when someone gets left home and Wilbur drive away.

Painting at stephs house

The painting begins.  And after painting Friday I did my weight watchers meeting Saturday morning to find out I have now dropped 60 pounds.  Now that's a big number. Almost as big as being 60 years old.
And I am on the list to have my Eagles initiation later this month.  And then I can check out more places to park Smokey while we travel around the great northwest.

Satellite TV for Smokey

I have never had satellite TV before so this was something new. I had D & D satellite in Salem take care of everything. They even gave me an old dish to use in Smokey.  They really took good care of me. They deal with both Dish and Direct and even helped me with my over the air antenna.  Did i tell you i got everything FREE and even got a $50.00 credit.  Just ask me and i will help you get the same deal. I built a stand for it out of pipe and pieces from the scrap yard. It weighs 15 pounds.
I will have to let you know how it works out.  So far I have hooked the portable dish up and found the two satellites but not great signal.  I'm still learning.

Helping out a neighbor

I almost forgot to post this.  Another Elk that I met in Newport last week had no power to start or run the dash lights.  So after a couple of days of some work I think I got to the bottom of it with cleaning all the battery cables.
These pictures are of the power distribution box.  It is a 2000 Fleetwood Southwind.   The couple called us later to tell us they were not having an problems. I hope they get back to the Long Beach CA where they live without trouble.

Another trip to the coast.

We can't seem to stay home too long at a time.  Then we need to go somewhere.  And when it's not cold, damp and windy the Oregon Coast calls us.  So tonight we came to the Chinook Winds Casino for the night. We have parked in a prime spot with Ocean views.  Kind of cloudy and some sun but no wind or rain.
We took a walk on the beach and to the Casino for coffee.  The some boutique shopping.  Sophie did need a trip to Chico's for smaller clothes.  And speaking of smaller i am down 59.4 pounds if you really want to know.

The shower ceiling repair

My shower skylight in Smokey was kind of rotten from the roof leaking so here is how it turned out.
Not really much to look at but it's clean and there are no big holes.

Joining the Eagles

I have really enjoyed the Elks Lodge for all the RV spots they have but after seeing that the Eagles in The Dalles have hookups I was ready for more.
Today I stopped by the Tigard Eagles and filled out the application and paid my $15.00 fee.  They are giving me a FREE  years membership for being a veteran. So as I learn more of the Eagles I will pass it on.
Here is the list of RV spots.
