Sunday June 28th

This morning we woke up at the Tillamook Elks campground. Don't you just hate the big crowds on the coast during the Summer. This lodge is working on another RV area with pull thru's and full hookups. Maybe next year we will stay here again.

We found a nice place to spend some time. It was funny to see all the people who thought they could drive out next to the ocean only to get stuck. Wilbur could see the water just fine from here.

Back in Lincoln City we watch the sun set. We feel like we are home since we spend a lot of time in this town. The plan is to drive home tomorrow after B'fast.

Saturday June 27th Starting mileage 1959

The lady who loved Wilbur. We have had several people coment on how nice Wilbur is but this lady really had a thing about Classic Winnebagos. She even has the Tonka Indian at home in new condition and knows the name of the people and dog that came with them.

Friday June 26th Starting miles 1860

We were woke up by the secretary of the lodge and told we should be out of the bank lot by 8:00. It was 7:45. So the coffee was started and we got dressed and drove to breakfast along the bay in
South Bend, WA . A nice place to eat.

We drove back into OR and parked along the Mighty Columbia River for lunch. There was a place that smoked fish so we bought some for a great smoked Salmon salad for lunch. They have a trolly that runs along the river now that some cruise ships stop here.

In Seaside, OR we look at the ocean from inside Wilbur.

6/25/09

Thursday June 25th. Start Mileage 1798. We have driven 339 miles on this trip.
OK I will try to do this in the morning instead of at night.
We have made B'fast and will drive over to the beach soon to start our day looking for shells and agates. We hope the weather clears up and the wind dies down.

This is on the South tip of Ocean Shores, WA. We found many rocks and shells.

Wilbur found a long lost relative. This is at a 4 wheeler track. No one around to talk to so we took a picture and left.

Very funny guys. No steps so I guess it it was handicaped accessible. And I really wanted to use it too.

In Raymond, WA they like to paint murals on buildings. This is at Ugly Ed's. Lots of junk, er I mean ""stuff" to look at.

Wednesday
Left the Raymond Elks and drove up to Westport on 106 for a b'fast and shower camp. It started to rain but we were inside. After getting all clean and fed we drove on to Aberdeen. We found a thrift store to look around in. We even found a new clamp on light for using inside Wilbur at night. Then it was off to the casino in Ocean Shores. They have free dry camping so we went in and checked it out. Not really like the larger casinos in Oregon we are use to. Had lunch there and played a couple of machines. We then decided to check out the town. We drove around and found the beach we want to check out at low tide in the morning. We are now at the Elks Lodge in Ocean Shores watching an Elvis movie and using the Internet.

6/23/2009

Today we spent time on the beach for a -3' tide. We went to Arcadia Beach (South of Cannon beach). Spent about 3 hours there before driving up into WA.

I was hard at work reading when someone took this picture. Life is good.

The Elks in Raymond said they have RV parking, elect and water. Well it's down town and you can park in the bank lot next door, run a cord over the fence and spend the night. Oh yes they have WIFI too. All for the price of FREE. Thats where I will stay when we are in town.

Heading into Washington 6/22/09

6/22/09 Start mileage 1459
Happy Birthday Stephanie!!
My youngest turned 21 today.
We came home yesterday for Fathers day, and today we are getting ready to head out again. I changed one of the gas filters on Wilbur that looked dirty. I would rather change it at home than on the side of the road around a hot engine.

Drove from home to Tillamook, OR today.

Had a lady come up to me when I got out on the beach to show me an ad for a '73 Brave in the National Geographic she had. Now that was a new way of starting up a conversation. Everyone talks about how nice Wilbur is. Her husband said someone either took very good care or we really fixed Wilbur up a lot.

Yes that is Wilbur behind her.

And it was a very nice day in Cape Kiwanda, OR too.
We spent the night at the Blimp Hanger in Tillamook. It is really at the Airport. Now anyplace else you would hear airplanes at a airport, but not a one was ever heard.

6/19/09 - 6/21/09

Friday 6/19/09
We are on the Oregon Coast again. The weather was not going to be the best but it really was not so bad. Some showers during our drive over but overall good. In fact we thought it was rather pleasant. Sophie won a $25.00 gift card to Shell at the Chinook Winds Casino from 95.5 FM. It was a drawing we entered and they pulled her name out. I think we could put $25.00 of gas in Wilbur even if the tanks were full.

Saturday 6/20/09
Another night at the Elks Lodge in Newport. Plenty of room for others.
The weather is nice. Even some sun. We walk around town to some garage sales and the Saturday market

Sunday 6/21/09
Happy Fathers day. We finally had some rain, OK it really rained last night. But that's OK with us. We need to head home today for a family gathering and then our daughters 21st B'day on Monday.

Chinook Winds SHA NA NA 05/08/2009 - 05/10/2009

We drove to the Casino in Lincoln City Friday after work to see the SHA NA NA concert. We already had tickets for Friday night, but when we arrived there was not the usual crowd in the parking lot. So we went in and decided to enjoy the sea food buffet with out a crowd. Then we were ask what we were doing Saturday night. Seems like they had extra tickets for the concert so we picked up FREE tickets for that night too. Anyway, after a great seafood meal and a great concert we decided to stay in Lincoln City and see the show Saturday night too.
